Pages 3
Ok, so I found out that the pages are only for STATIC info, so please keep on reading the Home page for latest info. Will add other info to the pages, project brief etc. Keep watching.
Pages follow up
It seems that I can only add one post to each page, but will keep on experimenting, see test under project 2
Pages
Ok, clearly I have discovered how to add pages, but have no idea how to add new posts to each page! Please help if you have the answer!

For Monday
Build a site model on which you place your first idea model - this will be very helpful, since both sites have considerable slopes on them.
new pages added
Please see the new links at the top of the page. To organise our info better, all info will be added per project. So see under Project 2 new posts.

Hand in yesterday
What a wonderful hand in yesterday! The quality of the presentations was exeptional! Congratulations to those of you that got "outcomes achieved". For those that did not get "outcomes achieved" it could mostly be contributed to incompleteness. We hope that you could see the value in building so many models and how it helped the process.

Work for Monday 8 March
In groups of two you must prepare a PowerPoint presentation. It must have a maximum of 20 slides. You must print out the presentation in black and white and bring it also on a flash disk or cd. Make sure it works! Meet in at 10:00 in room 2c on Monday 8 March.
Climatic study
(Basic information available at Carleen in the printing room, you must also find your own.)
Use diagrams, pictures and words to compare the following two climatic regions: The sub-tropical area of St Lucia in Kwazulu Natal and the desert area of Windhoek in Namibia. Your must look at least at the following:
• Characteristics of the climate, for example rainfall, sun exposure, winter, summer, temperature etc.
• How it influences the form of a building for optimal sustainable design.
• Find suitable architectural precedent. The precedent must have been built after 1990, published in an architectural magazine and not a vernacular building.
Functional study
The book, Great Spaces: Flexible Homes is available at Bongiwe at reception for use for half an hour per group. You may scan images at the scanner at reception.
Compare your current living situation/s with an example from the book. With diagrams, pictures and words, describe similarities and/or differences by looking at least at:
• Space for sleeping
• Space for cooking/eating
• Space for bathing/ablution
• Space for working/studio
Enjoy!
